Description
The Design Museum in a Box is a curated collection of 100 postcards showcasing the breadth of global design – from typography and furniture to fashion and digital media. Drawing on the Design Museum’s archive, including its exhibitions and posters from the past four decades, the set features work by figures such as Ettore Sottsass and Zaha Hadid, capturing the impact of design on everyday life.
Notably, it also includes the first published images of the newly opened Design Museum at its Kensington site, which launched to the public in 2016.
As Editor, I worked with Design Museum Director Deyan Sudjic and the editorial and design teams at Penguin to shape the narrative and visual selection. My role involved selecting key objects and ephemera, editing and writing object descriptions, and ensuring consistency and clarity across the set. I also liaised with the museum’s curatorial team to manage image quality and uphold design integrity throughout. The result is a tactile, accessible introduction to design history in an innovative format.
