Description
Published to accompany Electronic: From Kraftwerk to The Chemical Brothers — a touring exhibition that brought the spirit of the rave into the Design Museum — this richly illustrated book explores the visual culture, political ideals and design languages of electronic music.
As project editor and co-graphic designer for the English-language edition, I worked closely with the Design Museum, the original French publishers and the curatorial team to adapt, structure and deliver the publication for UK audiences. I led content development and copyediting while adapting the original editorial design created by Agnès Dahan Studio, art directing image placement and refining the visual identity across over 300 pages.
The book features interviews with pioneers and provocateurs including Jeff Mills, Ian Anderson (The Designers Republic) and Kiddy Smile, alongside visuals spanning the Haçienda and Berghain, fashion by Raf Simons and Charles Jeffrey, and AV collaborations by The Chemical Brothers and Bicep. Edited by Jean-Yves Leloup, Gemma Curtin and Maria McLintock, the book reflects electronic music’s evolution as both sound and spectacle.
