Description
Published to accompany Objects of Desire by the Vitra Design Museum, the London Design Museum’s 2022 exhibition on Surrealism and design, this visually bold publication reimagines the exhibition catalogue as an accessible and playful object in its own right.
Surrealism and Design Now expands on themes explored in the original 2019–20 show while introducing a new curatorial perspective and newly commissioned content specific to the London presentation. Structured around five thematic chapters, the book centres each section on a key exhibition object, which is used as a conceptual anchor for essays, image plates and interviews.
Contributors include Glenn Adamson, Susanna Brown and a range of contemporary designers and artists — from the Campana Brothers to Tim Walker to Dunne & Raby – exploring the ongoing influence of Surrealism on contemporary creative practice.
As Project Editor, I managed editorial production from content refinement to proofing and delivery, coordinating with the museum team and external contributors to shape a publication that was both serious in content and irreverent in spirit – echoing the exhibition’s tone and aesthetic ambition.
